I am not afraid of paint!!!!

The downstairs was looking a little tattered and torn.  It really needed some touch up paint, and some walls needed a whole new coat.  Now, keep in mind that I never painted a room until I married Mike.  Together we painted his parents' basement.  That was about 7 years ago.  Then, during the kitchen remodel, I helped Mike paint the ceiling.  Miraculously, though, I was not able to help him paint all the walls.  So this is the extent of my painting prowess.  Feeling courageous, though, I took the bull by the horns, gathered my supplies, and conquered the battle.  All the doors downstairs had only been primed, never painted.  Now all but one are painted.  They're so shiny!   The kitchen remodel took it's toll on the walls in the hallway.   There were a lot of scratches  (and dog snot--gross!)  Those are all repainted, too.  I even took doorknobs off and put them back on again when I was done.  I am obviously very proud of myself.

I'm not really that great at major repairs, though.  Mike had patched a damaged wall.  I was feeling invincible, so I sanded down the mud, textured with some spray-on texture, and then painted over it.  Unfortunately, you can still see the mud patch.  I needed to sand it down more and spray on a thicker texture.  I guess you live and learn!
