Alaska Day 7

And on the seventh day… we did not rest! We were in Ketchikan, AK today. The ship ported early in the morning and we had until 12:30pm to get the sites in. We did not have a tour guide today but we did run into the sister of our tour guide from yesterday. She sold us some popcorn. Keralyn and I decided to hoof it today. We looked at some of the souvenir shops, we decided that they were all the same. So, we decided to walk all over the city and see where the normal people here live and see the sites, not just the “touristy” things. We walked up a lot of hills and took some cool pictures. We came back to the ship and ate some lunch and then took a long nap. We strolled around the ship and then went to a great dinner. The staff was all there to help make the night special. We all had Chef hats on and ate some good food. I did have an pre-appetizer that had something that I think was pureed duck, It looked more like duck do-do. I have confirmed today that I am NOT a fancy food eater. The rest of the dinner was actually quite good. The rest of our group have decided to take in the late night entertainment, but with us loosing an hour as we move our clocks forward again, we thought it would be best to get some sleep. I have one more conference that is tomorrow and then we port one last time in Victoria, British Columbia. We will be back in Seattle on Sunday morning and then the 14 hour drive home. I think we are ready to be home. We miss everyone and our dog.
